La Reina Hospital
After its inauguration in 1932, the “La Reina” Military Hospital has been the flagship of Chilean health system. Throughout its more than 80 years of history, it has always been a leader incorporating the latest medical advances to its facilities at its headquarters in Providencia. However, in 2005 a new challenge arose: to change the location of the military hospital.
It was a great challenge and a milestone for the nation´s health system, because it brought the opportunity to incorporate the most modern and updated medical equipment to the Hospital. Dominion was a key piece to achieve this due to its technical knowledge of medical technology, and it was in charge of integrating medical and technological equipment to the 17,000 square meter military hospital.
In addition, this hospital was the first health center in the country to have a helipad and it is also noteworthy that it was built with seismic insulators, which made the building remain intact when an earthquake of 8.9 degrees on the Richter scale hit the area. Truly impressive!
This project was important for Dominion to obtaining expertise in the hospital sector, but it also served to lay the foundations of the company in the country. Therefore this work was, without a doubt, an important milestone in the history of Dominion.
